Safety Officer

Responsibilities:

Conducts safety and environmental inspections, identifies potential ES&H issues.

 Spearheads investigations of accidents, incidents and near misses and leads Corrective Action Program.

Development and implementation of Emergency Response Contingency Plan, leads Emergency Committee, and spearheads Remediation / Rehabilitation Program.

Conducts Safety Induction and administers Drug and Alcohol Policy for new hire.

Maintains records of Safety Training including Risk & Hazard Register.

Training of employees to perform Job safety Analysis (JSA’s) before work and periodic review of the JSA logs. Maintains Emergence Response Equipment, selects personnel protective Equipment for employees and all other related equipment safety devices.

To advise on EHS activities and issues, implement procedures and add value to the effectiveness of the Safety Management System. Performs accident and incident investigations and follow-up activities for Corrective Action procedures.

 Assists and if necessary, take charge of the Emergency Response Team as required.

Assists employees in preparation and conduct of Job Safety Analyses and maintain safety and environmental statistics.

Inspects and distribute appropriate Personal Protective. Equipment and other related safety devices.

Requirements

  • Minimum educational background High School or similar
  • Diploma in HSE related field or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ work experience
